Bbaale Foundation Uganda Update Report (Education and Skills Training – 15th September 2022)

As of September 15, 2022, Bbaale Foundation continues its commitment to transforming lives through education and skills training. This update celebrates the strides made in nurturing the potential of sponsored children in Mpigi District.

School Resumption and Medical Challenges:

  • In gratitude, we acknowledge the reopening of schools on September 5, 2022.
  • Overcoming medical challenges, our sponsored children received prompt attention from dedicated medical professionals.

Key Pillars of Child Sponsorship Success:

  1. Intentional Caregivers: Dedicated adults provided safe, loving, and nurturing parental care.
  2. Psychosocial Support: Regular visits assessed emotional well-being, fostering open communication.
  3. Spiritual Discipleship: Nurturing a healthy relationship with faith to guide children toward a brighter future.
  4. Mentorship and Skills Empowerment: Empowering children to thrive by pairing them with influential mentors.
  5. Monitoring Mechanism: Ensuring the welfare, care, and education of each child through vigilant monitoring.

Creative and Design Lab at Kisima Junior School:

Skills Training – Driving:

  • Ben Ssozi and Wamala John completed Level 1 driving classes.
  • Plans are underway to procure a second-hand Toyota Premio car for extended driving lessons.

Skills Training – Tailoring:

  • Fourteen trainees, despite facing challenges, were provided materials to create their first tailored products.

Needs for the Creative and Design Lab:

  1. Two manual Tailoring machines to enhance practical training.
  2. A double metallic door for the Design Lab room.
  3. Tiles for the floor to maintain a conducive environment for creativity.

Activities Conducted (July – August):

  • Football and Netball Competitions (July): Sponsored children actively participated, fostering teamwork and discipline.
  • Boys’ Mentorship Sports Camp (August 28-31): Aligned with the theme from 1 Timothy 4:12, instilling values of speech, faith, conduct, and love.

Upcoming Activities:

  • Talent Development – Music, Dance, and Drama (December 8, 2022): Annual Christmas party to showcase children’s talents.

Looking Ahead:

  • Awaiting official confirmation for the return of all children to school in Term 1.
